Ogilvy & Mather and the Omnicom Group said Friday that they will push forward with a joint media-buying partnership in Europe despite Ogilvy's acquisition last week by the WPP Group.

The joint effort, called the Media Partnership, includes BBDO and DDB Needham, which are both Omnicom holdings, and Ogilvy. J. Walter Thompson was initially a member of the partnership, but later withdrew. Started last February, the partner-ship intends to buy media space for the agencies in several European countries.
