HONG KONG/GUANGZHOU: Saatchi & Saatchi has hired staffers from defunct sister agency D'Arcy to handle Procter & Gamble and other creative assignments in southern China.

The agency has named Kim Das as regional director on the Procter & Gamble account and Polly Chu(朱伟幸) as Guangzhou group creative director.

The appointments follow the recent global realignment of P&G's Crest business to Saatchi after parent company Publicis shuttered the D'Arcy operation worldwide late last year.

Saatchi Asia-Pacific and Africa chief executive officer Patrick Pitcher said: "My aim is to continue to deliver the best calibre work and resources to sustain the momentum behind one of P&G's largest brands in China."

He added: "Crest has grown immensely under the leadership at D'Arcy and presents great opportunity for our organisation."

Pitcher also said that the agency was likely to announce further hirings from among ex-D'Arcy staffers with Crest experience.

Das was previously D'Arcy China managing director, responsible for P&G brands. He was also part of the team that helped drive the Crest business in China since his appointment to the market three years ago from D'Arcy Singapore. His appointment will see him relocating from China to Hong Kong.

Chu was most recently group creative director of D'Arcy Guangzhou. In her new post, she will spearhead all creative development on Crest and other business, and she will also continue to be based in Guangzhou.

Crest was realigned to Saatchis late last year with the transition being completed this month.
