BEIJING- Starcom(星传媒体) China chief executive officer T S Chan(陈天成) , has left the company.

Starcom declined to comment on the reasons behind Chan's exit, an industry veteran with over 25 years' experience who joined the media agency in June last year.

Blaise D'Sylva, Starcom's regional CEO for Northeast Asia, said that the departure was by mutual consent but would not elaborate, citing personal reasons. "He is a great guy; I respect and like him as a person," he said.

D'Sylva said he was arranging a replacement; Chan could not be contacted at the time of going to press. Chan exited Starcom as it was entering the final stages of a competitive pitch to defend its Wrigley's account in China.

A decision was imminent at press time, with MindShare and Universal McCann also thought to be contesting the business. Before joining Starcom, Chan was general manager of China Touch Media Services, a company that helps develop strategic partnerships to manage and launch products in China.
