SHANGHAI – Evelyn Wang(王祥芸) has left DY&R Wunderman to help BBDO establish its first CRM operations in mainland China.

Wang has been made the first general manager of Proximity China, BBDO's specialised arm offering inte- grated communications, with a brief to recuit a team of 10 by the end of the year. Wang's first project is for Pepsi Beverages.

Wang, who moved from Beijing to Shanghai to take up the new post, reports to BBDO's China chief executive officer, Yvonne Lo.

The new CRM unit in Shanghai, Proximity's third office in Greater China, follows the creation of new operations in Taiwan earlier this year. The new Greater China offices are part of a larger regional push by BBDO to expand the Proximity network across Asia, with new offices opening in the Philippines and Indonesia in recent months to add to Proximity's existing network in Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and Malaysia.

Before joining Proximity Wang was Y&R Wunderman's general manager of interactive business for Greater China, where she looked after Motorola, Ford, Sony Ericsson, Heineken and Nissan.

Before that, she spent three years with Ogivly Interactive in Beijing.
