Mediaedge:cia (MEC) CEO for Asia Pacific David Morgan has resigned after a mere six months in the job, and is understood to be heading to Universal McCann to take on a regional role.

MEC will not be replacing Morgan, but will expand the job scopes of three of its senior staff to handle the work. Bertilla Teo(张敬鸾), previously MEC’s Singapore MD and currently Shanghai-based CEO of MEC China, will be promoted to head North Asia, MS. Teo will taking on a wider North Asia remit, covering China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan.

[Sources point to Teo as a likely candidate for the MEC regional chief role];  COO for MEC Global Solutions Stephen Li will take on the South Asia remit; while MEC CFO Chan Huang Yee will also be given a wider management role.

According to the agency, Morgan’s departure will not affect clients and staff and it is “business as usual”.
