BEIJING – Carlsberg(嘉士伯) China has embarked on a comprehensive review of its creative requirements for its Carlsberg Green Label and Chill brands, as the international beer giant gears up for the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008.

The review, which is being overseen by marketing consultancy R3, has begun with credential presentations, with workshops expected to take place by the end of November.

Six agencies are thought to be contesting the business, with Ogilvy & Mather, Euro RSCG, Wieden & Kennedy and Y&R all believed to be taking part with at least two other unnamed agencies, while previous project incumbents BBH and Fallon are not participating.

R3’s principal Greg Paull declined to comment on the specifics of the review, but he said: “Carlsberg is looking for energy, passion and commitment, and they’re looking for a long-term strategic partner.”
