Beijing – GroupM China Chief strategy officer Quinn Taw(杜生利) has quit the network effective immediately, less than a year after taking on the role.

Citing "personal reasons" as the motivation for his departure, Taw (pictured) said the decision to step down simply bright forward his plans. "I'll be looking to announce something perhaps in the next few weeks, but for now I have other priorities," he said.

Prior to his GroupM China role, Taw spent 12 months as managing partner of MindShare China, and prior to that was managing director for MindShare Beijing.

When he first arrived in China, Quinn was the General Manager for ZenithMedia, Beijing. Before coming to China, Quinn was based in Japan where he was a founding partner in the interactive agency FlyingColor, whose clients included: Proctor & Gamble, Nike, Heineken and Jardine’s Wines & Spirits. Other experience includes working at Starcom (previously Leo Burnett Media) in Japan and Taiwan.
