SHANGHAI – After much speculation, Leo Burnett China MD Donald Chan has confirmed that ECD Ruth Lee(李少蕙) is to depart the agency in mid-June.

According to Chan, Lee leaves after five years to pursue other interests. “It was entirely amicable,” said Chan, who also added that the agency was “very close” to securing a replacement.

In the interim, Lee’s deputy – group CD Attlee Ku – will oversee the agency’s creative department. Lee first joined Burnett Hong Kong in 1997, rejoining the agency in 2002 after a stint in the US.

“I will really miss my teams at Leo Burnett but I feel that I leave them now at a time when the agency is strong and with a track record of great work,” she said.
