Hong Kong – Eight has formed a specialist team around tablet publications, bringing together print and digital in-house teams to deliver best-in-class user experiences.

In addition to being able to rapidly move existing print publications onto tablets, Eight’s team also works to craft the multimedia content to enrich the publication and make best use of the interactive capabilities of iPads and Android tablets.

“An iPad app should be more than just a PDF with page-turn animations. It is important to fully leverage the capabilities of the medium,” says Chris Fjelddahl, Partner at Eight. “Whether it’s an annual report or a high-fashion magazine, you need to not only add the videos, slideshows, etc., but also craft the user-experience to align with the content.”

Eight is currently working on several tablet assignments for a range of clients and product types – including lifestyle magazines and investor relations publications – that will be released later this Autumn.
