HONGKONG– Eight Partnership today announces the arrival of Swiss husband-and-wife team Nadia and André Utzinger to strengthen the services offered to clients in the luxury sector.

The Utzingers have recently relocated to Hong Kong from Geneva where they ran a high-end boutique design and production agency servicing names like Parmigiani, Ebel and Hugo Boss Watches. Their renowned expertise spans turnkey brand imagery, advertising, POS and catalogues.

Eight has a long track record in working with luxury labels including Chanel, Cartier, Alfred Dunhill, Montblanc and Intercontinental Hotels. The Swiss duo’s expertise will further strengthen the services offered to those brands.

“Nadia brings a delicate hand and an uncompromising eye to her graphic design work for the most demanding brand owners,” says Björn Fjelddahl, Managing Partner at Eight. “Asia still lacks highly experienced luxury designers, and many companies head off to Paris, New York or London for their design needs. Add Asian languages to the mix and the incremental costs are becoming an important consideration.”

Luxury sales volumes are continuing to build in Asia, especially in China, which will account for 22% of global sales by 2015 according to research by management consultancy McKinsey. It is becoming uneconomical for brands to continue using their Europe-based production sources.

“André’s 25 plus years of expertise in luxury print production, gives our clients the confidence to move their production from Europe to Asia, knowing that the high quality standards they expect will be maintained,” says Fjelddahl.

Eight’s work in luxury property and hospitality will also benefit from their addition. The Mira Hotel, Puli Hotel and Odin Property are some of Eight’s luxury hospitality clients in the recent past.
