Title: Head of Social

Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Head of Social is to help develop digital/social media strategies and creative online engagement programs that include communications plans and action for MEC and its clients. He/she will develop highly original, provocative community engagement systems that will marry powerful creative and content with earned, paid and social media plans. In addition, this position plays a supporting role in agency new business opportunities. The Digital Strategist, works closely with, represents, and reports directly to the Head of Interaction.

• Understand key trends in consumer engagement campaigns online and offline, and provide expert guidance internally and to MEC clients
• Understand and constantly be up on latest technologies/sites that can help deliver best in practice results for clients and MEC.
• Develop innovative paid, earned and social media outreach strategies to reach target audiences, drive engagement and build community
• Develop strategies to drive people down the community engagement funnel – from visitor to active community member
• Manage paid digital media activities to ensure cost-effective, high-quality member acquisition
• Manage online PR activities to reach target audiences with engaging messages that work with other online content
• Manage social media activities to drive organic community growth and interaction
• Develop partnerships with appropriate organizations that help build community
• Develop and oversee metrics to evaluate digital engagement programs for quality and effectiveness
• Ensure MEC and our clients are positioned well in all paid, earned and social media outreach
• Experience working with and managing clients as it relates to digital engagement efforts

• 6+ years of digital strategy experience in consulting or agency environment
• Strong project management skills and direct experience managing the successful completion of digital/social/mobile projects and ongoing digital marketing communications programs
• Exceptional oral and written communications skills
• Strong presentation
• Proven ability to communicate complex, technical concepts to marketing staff
• Experience in a cross-functional team environment
