BEIJING- Following a competitive pitch, BMW China(宝马中国) recently has moved its digital media planning & buying duties to Carat (凯络媒体)China, which had been incumbent on the former’s traditional media.

Carat will handle digital media planning and buying duties for both BMW and MINI brands in mainland.

As source said that, at least four agencies- included incumbent Hylink, Carat, Starcom and Dentsu’s &C. – attended in the pitch.

Additionally, the review majorly driven by the automaker’s procurement department, instaed of marketing department.

Carat Beijing has worked on BMW China from 2006.

  • The pitch went very shitty as everyone in the game known, BMW purchasing manager, an arrogant Germany always complains local agency, however, this pitch is just like other industrial pitch, it was already decided internally to move to Carat. We shall see what is going on with those so called 4A international agency which run by Chinese people work. It is absolutely an unfair game but the looser belong to BMW and Carat for sure!
