Group Head (Digital Art)

Department: Creative

Job Summary:
Responsible for conceptions, designing, and executing innovative visual materials for various direct, events, promotional advertising projects. His/her creative output should consistently satisfy or exceed client’s and agency’s objectives and expectations. Will assist ACD and be capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously.

Major Responsibilities:
· Ensures all work is of the highest possible quality and maintains agency’s commitment to changing customer behaviour through disruptive ideas at all points of contact
· Ensures all creative work produced is integrated with all marketing materials produced by other Y&R companies’ lines of business. Responsible for securing approval for all work from ACD
· Creates own and/or facilitates the origination of concepts, words and visual ideas for agency clients that are responsive to marketing/creative objectives and strategies within reasonable cost
· Actively participates in, gives direction to, and/or supervises Art Directors, Copywriters, Designers in the creation of visual solutions incorporating his concepts/ideas and the concepts/ideas of his/her team
· Works with the ACD to fulfill the CD’s vision of the group, follows established work processes, identifies and mitigates team issues, escalates issues when necessary
· Works with team members to improve their overall effectiveness on the team and makes recommendations to ACD for additional training for team members
· Produces the final assets necessary for sending over to the Studio. This includes preparing and directing files for mock-ups and presentation boards
· Directs Studio toward completion of mechanicals
· Creates and documents final design parameters, style guides and visual standards
· Contributes to the new business activities of the agency
· May include other duties as assigned

Qualifications / Specific Skill Requirements:
· Bachelor in Design/Advertising major preferred
· At least 8+ years of relevant working experience in agency, with a thorough understanding of Art Direction/Design
· Thorough proficiency with Photo Shop, AI, AB, MAC literacy is required
· Ability to demonstrate solid conceptual and design skills
· Ability to present and sell ideas effectively. Ability to talk about our expertise and our work both internally and externally. And, just as important, the ability to listen and understand client feedback and feedback from internal critiques
· A command of Typography, Color, Composition, Hierarchy and an understanding of how they need to work together in developing on-brand, on-target solutions
· Ability to create and execute your ideas in an efficient, organized way, be able to evaluate what ideas/concepts are valid and those that are not worth pursuing. Must be able to inform and drive synergy across communication platforms, be able to successfully translate ideas into other media (web, showroom, print, TV and promotions)
· Strong leadership, communication and team building skills
· Knowledgeable of branding and conceptual development
· Have physical and mental requirements to meet the above listed job responsibilities
