Account Manager

JOB SUMMARY
The Account Manager, under direction of the Account Director, services the needs of his/her client throughout the length of an engagement, and acts as a liaison among the internal departments to gather and communicate all relevant facts needed to deliver on the clients needs. He/she is responsible for reviewing all major milestone deliverables prior to client submission, and shares in accountability for all client deliverables.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manages tactical initiatives for the Client’s business; maintains a focus on the short-term deliverables, concurrent with a firm understanding of client’s long-term goals.
• Communicate regularly with client on status, time-line, budget, deliverables, performance reporting, competitive intelligence analysis and other follow-up items.
• Assists Account Director in preparation of presentations and other materials needed for client meetings or demonstrations.
• Work with his/her Account Director to develop recommendations, and strategic and tactical online marketing communication plans.
• Coordinating client/brand team meetings, including project kick-off meetings, weekly update meetings and periodic update meetings with the client.
• Submits advertising/marketing campaign proposals, suggested concepts, and estimated budgets to client for approval in conjunction with Account Director.

INTERNAL FOCUS:
• Coordinate and participate in all internal client-related meetings, keeping on top of client’s projects and current status; responsible for related internal follow-up.
• Work closely with internal Media and Experience Design Group departments to monitor and direct as necessary the day-to-day project flow. Provide clear and timely direction to all other agency departments: team meetings, work order process with Project Managers, banner checking, creative/media briefs, task/status reports, contact reports, planning documents, or similar communication vehicles.
• Works with Customer Insights Group to ensure timely, insightful client reporting, campaign flighting and relevant research opportunities.
• Lead team in campaign / Web site optimization process and lessons learned analysis.
• Responsible for competitive intelligence research.
• Supports billing and financial reconciliation activities, including monthly revenue recognition and projection direct responsibility.
• Responsible for maintaining internal client files on company network and updating information sharing archive.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
• Should be specifically seeking knowledge and experience in online advertising, website development, and email/relationship marketing initiatives.Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative agency environment.
• The ability to successfully organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment is a must.
• Effective problem-solving skills, specifically the ability to assess situations, evaluate options, make decisions, draw conclusions, and exercise judgment, are required.
• Must be able to motivate and lead others in the development, direction and execution of marketing projects/campaigns.

Required Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a four year, accredited college or university; and three to five years of relevant experience in the account services field within the advertising industry, or a similar industry, required.
• A history of client service and developing relationships that lead to long-term engagements is required.
• Prior experience as an Account Manager strongly preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Experience with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
• Marketing/promotion experience with consumer packaged goods brands is a plus.
