Title: Strategist

Reporting To: Strategy Director
Working Location: Shanghai

To work as a part of the strategy team to propose innovative brand solutions to clients.

Key Responsibilities:
Development of Brand Strategy:
■Assist in designing, conducting and evaluating qualitative research
■Collate competitor information, searching analyst and media sources for information
■Assist in creating strategic reports and presentations
■Review client research and summarize findings
■Assist with tracking of budget and project timelines
■Prepare presentations decks

Relationship Management:
■Support team with client relationships and follow-up
■Prepare routine client communication
■Demonstrate effective internal relationships

Knowledge –Networking development:
■Keep abreast of brand and marketing trends across all aspects of the business
■Champion of ‘brand ideas’
■Work with the teams to establish best practice new ways of working and develop new tools and methodologies
■Encourage learning and sharing of ideas across the network
■Identify emerging environment themes
■Identify new client opportunities

Project Management:
■Ensure regular upward communication takes place and Director and rest of the team are fully briefed
■Develop strong working partnerships with project teams including Client services and Creative
■Responsible for overall project management of own projects, identifying specific tasks and delegating where appropriate, managing budget and external resources
■Monitor progress against plan and resolve revenue shortfalls
■Identify and manage risks, involving Director and other relevant personnel

People Management
■Support Director and team management as and when required
■Guide, motivate and direct the juniors to ensure their performance and development is managed using performance review process
■Ensure the achievement of client objectives
■Play a mentoring role if required
■Prepare to share ideas and thoughts with other strategists across the network.
■Give effective direction to Creative teams

Key Requirements:
■2+ years of experience in brand strategy
■Able to independently manage larger projects and sell “big ideas” by inspiring a senior client group
■Good time management skills
■Stay abreast of local and international trends impacting all areas of business
■A proven capability of independently manage projects
■Excellent communication and presentation skills

Title: Creative Director, China

Directly Reporting To: Managing Director, Shanghai & Managing Director, Beijing
Dot Line Reporting To: CEO, Greater China
Working Location: Shanghai

■Creative Director, China sits on the senior management team and sets the strategic vision for the future whilst managing the realities of the day-to-day function of the business.
■Creative Director, China is the manager, the inspirer, the overseer, and the senior creative driver, accountable for developing the overall client relationship through the creative work and growing business opportunities for the long term.
■To provoke and push the boundaries of creativity, it’s your responsibility to ensure the creative work is as brilliant as possible and is delivered effectively and efficiently, while supporting clear interaction with the client at multiple levels.
■Maintain a constant and detailed understanding of the relationship from all commercial and relationship perspectives: workflows, upcoming initiatives, strategic drivers, client objectives, industry and category news, competitor understanding etc. Leverage this knowledge to influence partnership status and identify opportunities.
■To establish best practice ways of working; in accessing, developing and cultivating ideas within different disciplines and across all clients.
■To lead and develop the team internally: skills, capabilities, succession planning, performance and development levels.

Key Responsibilities:
Concept Generation
■Able to translate strategy into big ideas that can work across various mediums
■Can sell in big ideas by inspiring a senior client group and motivating internally and externally
■Responsible for developing the role into a Brand Guardian, bringing inspiration and ambition to the creative and client teams
■Continually drive leading edge creativity

Design and Development
■Contribute to the content of the proposal and sign off budget and project plan
■Agree work planning on a monthly and weekly basis
■Translate the client brief and develop strategy to produce the creative brief
■Create high quality design to inspire team and clients
■Attend client briefings
■Ensure all work is accurately filed and documented
■Construct and deliver internal initiatives to help develop the Brand Union’s culture

BU Tools
■Ensure all Designers understand the BU proprietary tools and the value to clients
■Ensure that all proposals and templates are in line with the tools
■Develop and provide creative and innovative brand solutions in line with BU Experience Imprint

Client/Internal Relationships
■Support pitch activity, offering help and advice
■Support other Creative Directors and teams across the network
■Develop strong senior client relationships.
■Escalation point for issues to management and resolution

■Sign off all creative work presented to the client
■Present creative work to the client
■Oversee project estimates, targets and profitability

People Management:
■Ensure relevant skills are deployed appropriately across assignments
■Lead creative reviews, ensuring issues are escalated where appropriate
■Provide direction and development to the team, ensuring that performance is managed using the review process
■Assist members of the team to fine tune each other’s ideas
■Select and manage the Creative team

Key Requirements:
■Excellent design knowledge in appropriate areas
■Ability to storyboard or translate ideas to designers and develop innovative creative solutions
■Excellent knowledge of emerging trends in design
■Good knowledge of experience design, brand development, interactive commerce and creative process
■Ability to lead projects from concept to completion
■Proven leadership ability
■Good time management
