Senior Consultant

THIS ROLE 

This role is to be a Senior Consultant, based in Shanghai 
The role is not just a China role, but a global one. The right person needs to support us across multiple markets and multiple disciplines. 

Our BJ and SHA offices have two teams now 

-Marketing Consulting –our Consulting Work across ‘all six R’s’. (40 people)
-Agency Consulting  – connecting with global agency holding groups for M&A , as well as agencies in China and the region looking to gain insight (10 people)  

This person would be one of three Consultants in Shanghai

The role reports to Sabrina,  the China MD,  – who reports to Greg. Very flat structure

JOB SCOPE  – Play a key role in Best Practice and Project Management    

Lead, execute and supervise consulting work from the company in China.   This means a client interface, as well as internal management and direction.

2/3rd % of the work would be local work . 
1/3rd % would be working on global assignments 

This could include some regular projects such as 
(just as examples only)

· ​Ongoing local consulting projects for Mercedes, JNJ, Coca-Cola, Ferrero , AB InBev, Diageo, Bacardi, adidas, Fonterra and others based in Shanghai
· ​Global assignments for R3 – including potentially Samsung, Microsoft, GM and others 
· ​Supporting Shanghai Business Development – connecting with senior marketers to share our research, insights and case studies 

In addition, around half the time will be on Adhoc projects such as Agency Pitch Management, Media Auditing and increasingly more marketing measurement projects.

Build and train a team in to improve and grow and expand.  All our team are local Chinese with a mixture of experience, but a great energy to grow and learn

Support our expansion into ROI measurement and manage the analytical and financial skills to help us deliver work.

Add to the culture, not change it.  Although we work with the world’s largest companies, R3 is very different from a large agency or consultancy – we maintain more of a ‘family’ feel with extensive collaboration, partnership and no politics.  We take pride in what we have achieved, and humility in how we can better ourselves. Integrity.  Finally, there is no company in the marketing sector in China that puts a higher value on integrity and honesty.  We handle highly confidential information from marketers and agencies, media cost benchmarks and sales information.  This person must be beyond reproach

Expected time split would be 50% on regular / recurring R3 projects as above and 50% on Adhoc projects

We continue to reward our best people and expand our business. For the right candidate, they could expect to dramatically grow their team and their skillset.  After five years, such a senior person should also get the potential for more profit sharing and equity in the firm.   

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will have experience on the client side or agency side of marketing, preferably both , and around 8-16 years of working experience.  They cannot be new to China, they must know this market, people and working approach.  It’s crucial the candidate has a regional / global mindset and is effectively bilingual.  Some education or work experience outside of China will be an asset. 

We’re quite open on past experience Client Side, Advertising, Digital , PR, Research or Media Agencies. The ability to manage and grow clients will be crucial

LOCATION AND TRAVEL 
Based in Shanghai and no more than 3-4 travel days a month travel.

COMPENSATION  / OTHER BENEFITS

We are flexible on this entirely based on the working experience and capability of the candidate. We aim to pay competitive compensation to our staff.

Our current turnover rate at the senior level is below 10% .

Every week, we have a Sharing Session across different teams in China.

Every month, our whole China team does something fun together for an evening.

Every three months, we agree and align three things we want each individual to do for the following three months – and in turn three things that R3 will do for that person. 

R3 conducts detailed six monthly 360 degrees evaluations and pays generous bonuses with both the company and individual has performed well.  

Every year, our whole team does something fun together for three days – past trips include Hanoi, Shanghai and Bangkok 
Every three, six and nine years of service, we have specific rewards for those who stay with us.

SHANGHAI ASSOCIATE CONSULTANT/助理顾问 

THIS ROLE

· ​This role is to be an Associate Consultant, based in Shanghai, with a future growing path into Consultant and Senior / Leading Consultant. 
· ​This role is not only working on single market.  The right person needs to support China business from SH, BJ and other major cities, with a scale across multiple office in R3 Global upon ad hoc requests. 
· ​This person would be in the team of one of the Senior Consultants in Shanghai, who reports to Sabrina Lee, our China MD.

JOB SCOPE 

· ​Play a key role in supporting R3 consulting and research projects    
· ​Individually accomplish the assignments from team projects and initiate methodologies or optimizations under the supervision of Senior Consultant.   
· ​This would require internal and external management and coordination, and sometimes a client interface.
· ​Typical type of projects would include Agency Pitch Management, Media Auditing and increasingly more marketing measurement projects. 
· ​The immediate need for this role is to be a key team member to support R3’s Shanghai based projects. This means you will also be travelling out of the office to face to face discussions with some of China’s leading marketers, along with a key role in analysis and reporting. 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

· ​The ideal candidate will have experience on the client side or agency side of marketing, preferably both, and around 3-5 years of working experience.  We’re quite open on past experience from Client Side, Advertising, Digital, PR, Research or Media Agencies.  The ability to manage and grow our core services will be crucial.  They cannot be new to China, they must know this market, people and working approach.  It’s crucial the candidate has a business driven mindset and is effectively bilingual.  Some education or work experience outside of China will be an asset. 
· Applicants should be native Chinese speakers with good English, a pro-active attitude and the ability to work independently, while being an effective team player.
· ​Applicants should be capable of making individual researches in areas of specific fields such as client industry, or marketing / communication trends in China and global.  An ability to create sharp point of view and clearly demonstrate through oral and written work is mandatory.

· ​Based in Shanghai and flexible for domestic business travels upon project requirement.
