SHANGHAI - MadisonBoom has learned that, David Hunt(left) has recently resigned from AKQA(雅酷) Shanghai as Managing Director, "to pursue other opportunities". He joined in AKQA China as General Manager in Dec. 2011, from BBDO Proximity China, where he was MD. When we contact AKQA this afternoon, the agency confirmed Hunt's resignation, "As with all of our staff, we would like to thank David for his contributions to the business and wish him well in the future." The statement added that, Jasel Mehta has become interim Managing Director of the Shanghai office, and will lead the growing Shanghai team and oversee the expanding list of clients in the region. Jasel joined AKQA in 2003 and was most recently International Director of Delivery. He brings over 15 years of digital marketing, project management and consulting expertise, working in partnership with clients such as Nike, Nissan, Heineken and Microsoft. Recently the AKQA Shanghai office moved to a larger space to accommodate its growth to now over 85 people serving clients like Nike, Unilever, and Tencent. AKQA joined in WPP family in June. 2012.
