Phil Talbot, the former regional CEO of Zenith Optimedia, has joined the board of tech agency DWA. Talbot takes on a non-executive director position on the board, with a brief to grow the business in Asia Pacific. The appointment does not mean the end of Talbot’s role as CEO of AsiaXpertise, a business he launched in September last year. DWA CEO David Wood said: “We are delighted to have somebody with Phil’s experience as part of DWA. His involvement and acumen will undoubtedly be a benefit to our clients and staff.” “He will be working closely with APAC regional MD John Massey as we look to continue the rapid growth we are experiencing throughout the region with a particular emphasis on Australia and China. His tremendous success over many years at ZenithOptimedia and his passion for technology made him a natural fit for our global management team.” Talbot commented: “Technology and its marketing has always been a passion of mine. Tech clients need specific talented people and a first class agency partner to meet their business goals. DWA can deliver this and I am looking forward to helping them grow and develop further.” Talbot left Publicis Groupe agency Zenith Optimedia in August last year after 19 years with the company. Other additions to DWA include Kiaran Geen, who joins as MD of Australia and New Zealand from OMD Perth, where he was group business director. Amy Slayter joins DWA Singapore as client services director. She was formerly a client with brands including SAP, Avaya and Nortel, and has also worked at McCann.
